Tommy and Phyllis wedding video

I’m not a videographer by any means, but I did take some short clips at Tommy and Phyllis’ wedding. I know it was a while ago, but I’ve finally caught up on processing some of our video. So here it is… in all it’s amateur glory.

Here’s the first runner-up costume. Pretty cute, huh? Not as cute as tomorrow’s costume though! More pictures (with other misc images) here.

This was Halloween costume idea number 1. It didn’t make the cut, however. (A bunch more of the same pictures here.) Stay tuned, as tomorrow, we will reveal the first runner-up.

100 miles on a bike isn’t so much

By jason, October 28, 2007 on 11:57 pm | In biking | No Comments

Just a few weeks ago, I set a goal for myself to ride my bike 100 miles by the end of the year. Apparently, 100 miles isn’t all that much on a bike as I’ve now logged 150 miles including my ride today with Dennis to Fairfax Scoop (mmm… honey lavendar). So now, I think maybe I can hit 300 miles by the end of the year. We haven’t made our holiday plans yet but still, I think 300 miles is reasonable.

Speaking of mileage, while enjoying our ice cream, a German girl rode up with a bike loaded with about 50 pounds of gear. Apparently, she has been touring the west coast by herself for the last nine-weeks, riding from Seattle all the way down to San Francisco! That’s 814 miles in a direct route and who knows how many miles she put on visiting friends, national parks, etc. along the way. Those crazy Germans… she was saying how Germany is such a small country and doesn’t have nearly the scenery that the US has. So true. It’s too bad most of the native US population doesn’t take advantage of what they have in their own backyard. That being said, almost every time I bike or run or drive somewhere scenic (which is almost anywhere it seems), I remark to myself how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Hopefully I can instill the same sense of wonder in Alissa as she grows up. I think it’s too late for Bonnie. Having grown up here, she’s spoiled beyond hope by now. =)

Anyway, here’s a map of our route today. It’s no trek from the Great Northwest to the bay area, but hey… I don’t have 9-weeks of vacation to burn either.

Taraval/Parkside Street Fair

By jason, October 28, 2007 on 10:30 pm | In alissa | No Comments

On my way home from a bike ride yesterday morning, I stumbled upon the Taraval/Parkside street fair. It was basically one block of Taraval (between 46th and 47th) blocked off for some pony rides, a pumpkin patch, a Shrek bouncy thingy, and some other miscellaneous local merchants. Anyway, we took Alissa there to just look around and get out for a bit.

Also, since it’s about time for Halloween, we’ve been trying different outfits on Alissa for her first costumed experience. I’ll post a teaser picture tomorrow and the next day before revealing which costume we ultimately ended up with. For the time being, here’s a $1 t-shirt teaser.

Edward and Nancy tied the knot last night at a very fancy affair in downtown SF last night. Food was great, ambiance was great, service was great!

I did some quick editing of the pictures from Vegas. I still have to get some pictures from Leslie, but the bulk of them are done. Here is the full album, and some highlights below.
